    “Einkauf, Gastronomie, Wanderungen und auch die medizinische Versorgung (Apotheke) sind vor Ort. Die Bewohner sind allesamt sehr aufgeschlossen und freundlich, das betrifft auch die Mitarbeiter im Handel.
    Da wir mit Hund anreisten fiel uns allerdings auf, dass sehr viel Hundekot auf den Straßen, Wiesen und Fußwegen lag. Hundetoiletten waren nicht bestückt, das heißt, es waren keine Kotbeutel vorhanden. Glücklicherweise waren wir allerdings gut versorgt angereist, aber die verschmutzten Straßen geben dann kein gutes Bild ab.
    Sonst ist es allerdings ein sehr schöner, romantischer Ort.”

    Wanderwege im Wald sind auch gut ausgeschildert.

    “Einkaufsmöglichkeiten waren sehr gut. Gastronomie könnte besser sein. Bei schönen Wetter sind die wenigen Freisitze voll so das man auf andere Orte ausweichen muss, z.B. zum Kaffeetrinken oder Eis essen.”

    “Ilsenburg ist sehr schön am Harzrand gelegen. Durch den Zugang zum Ilsetal bieten sich viele Wandermöglichkeiten, u.a. zum Brocken. Wir sind viel gewandert, v.a. mit dem Ziel Stempel für die Harzer Wandernadel zu sammeln. Da gibt es in der Umgebung eine Menge. Es gibt auch einen Kletterwald und man ist schnell in Wernigerode (Brockenbahn, Schwimmbad ...) oder Bad Harzburg (Luchsgehege, Krodoland, Seilbahn...). Im Ort ist ausreichend Gastronomie vorhanden, teilweise mit Tourismuspreisen, aber man findet auch preiswerte Restaurants.”
