    “Färjestaden ist ein niedlicher kleiner Ort mit sehr guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (NETTO, ICA, COOP...) Der Hafen ist ein belebter Punkt mit einem sehr guten Imbiss, einem Bäcker mit Cafe, einer Schokoladenmanufaktur, einer Boutique und vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten. Angrenzend ist ein Sand-/GrasStrand mit Spileplatz und sehr vielen Parkplätzen. Ein weiterer sehr schöner Spielplatz liegt am Schul und Sportzentrum.
    Auch Tankstellen gibt es mehrere im Ort.
    Färjestaden liegt sehr günstig, um Ausflüge auf der Insel oder auch auf dem Festland zu unternehmen. Man ist in etwas mehr als 2 Stunden in Vimmerby, nach 30 Minuten ist man in Borgholm. Und auch in den Norden und Süden der Insel kommt man von hier aus sehr gut.”

    “Von Stora Rör nach Färjestaden sind es ca. 15 km zum nächstgelegenen Einkaufszentrum. Der Ort selbst ist sehr ruhig, am Hafen gibt es ein nettes Restaurant, welches leider zu meiner Reisezeit nur partiell geöffnet hatte. Außerdem noch eine kleine Bäckerei, welche offenbar auch Kaffee und Kuchen anbot, aber leider auch nicht ständig geöffnet war. In dem kleinen Hafen liegen immer mal wieder ein paar Segelyachen, dort ist es ganz nett, eine Weile zu sitzen und das Meer zu beobachten.”
