Typical Sicilian stone house with a brick-built grill and a view of the surrounding valleys
The stone house is at an altitude of around 300 metres above sea level and is in Monsovile. From here you can enjoy a unique view of one of the beautiful Ragusa valleys with carob trees.
The building was built at the end of the 19th century and was recently completely restored, preserving the original stones and the old Sicilian ceramic and terracotta flooring in the interior. There is a big living room with an open kitchen, with two fridges, a stove, a TV and a sofa bed. There is also a guest WC with a washing machine on this floor. The sleeping area is on the upper floor and consists of two bedrooms, one with two single beds (80 x 190cm) and the other with a double bed (160 x 190cm), as well as a bathroom with a shower. The lower floor has heating.
The ground floor provides access to the big veranda and the adjoining parking space. You can also benefit from the courtyard, typical of the region, with a grill and stone oven. The whole property comprises about 17 hectares and the network of paths and roads enables long and relaxing walks in nature. Pets are welcome free of charge, but the site does not have very high fencing.
The surroundings provide a range of cultural, touristic and gastronomic options. It is only 18km to Ragusa, 25km to Modica, and just 8km to Marina di Ragusa and Donnalucata. It is 12km to Scicli and 15km to the golf club at Donnafugata. It is easy to get to the accommodation, as it is equidistant from the airport at Comiso and the harbour at Pozzallo.
