Holiday House in Anjum with Terrace and Lake Views

‘Lauwers Loft’ is a small but very comfortable and modern holiday home in the local marine of Oostmahorn with views on the harbor and the National Park Lauwersmeer, both from the living as well as from the sun-terrace. Pets are not allowed in ‘Lauwers Loft’

‘Lauwers Loft’, with a living space of approx. 45 m² and its connected sun-terrace, has an open, well equipped, kitchen and two bedrooms offering enough space for four people. In one of the two bedrooms is a double bed, the second bedroom has 2 single beds. There is a bathroom with toilet and shower.

The sun-terrace is connected to the living and the garden is only 20 meters away from the water. A beautiful beach is just a couple of minutes walking away. Parking is possible next to the chalet.

There is a flat-screen TV, as well as a free of charge wireless connection and baby cot and high chair are available on request.

Oostmahorn is an old stronghold at the at the western side of the Lauwerslake with a rich history, dating back to the sixteenth century. Nowadays it’s a very pleasant tourist destination at the National Park Lauwersmeer, hosting several holiday resorts.

The lake itself and the direct surroundings are a true paradise for nature lovers, fisherman, water sports enthusiasts, cyclists and hikers.

Within a couple of hundreds of meters there are several playgrounds for children. At the beach, in the small resort ‘De Skâns’ and in Esonstad - which is a holiday resort build as a replica of a typical old Frysian city. In Esonstad you’ll even find a bouncy castle and an indoor playing hall and one can play golf and foot golf here at the local Pitch & Putt area. Renting a bicycle or e-chopper is also possible here.

In Esonstad you can easily do your daily groceries (a bigger supermarkt is just a couple of kilometers away in Anjum) or find a restaurant, pizzeria or a snackbar.
Another three restaurants are even closer to your holiday house. Some of them offer spectacular lake views. Other good options to enjoy the local seafood cuisine are the sea harbor of Lauwersoog at the northern side of the lake, the old fishing village of Zoutkamp at the eastside of the lake or at Dokkum, the most northern fortified city of Friesland.

To discover the National Park from the waterside you could bring your own boat or surf gear but there are boats and sailing boats for rent as well at ‘Paviljoen La Barca’. If you’re more into cat sailing, try the local cat-club ‘Omaho’, next to the small marina.

A boat-tour, sailing trip to Dokkum, bird or seal expedition can be booked around the corner and a ferry to the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog, with it’s many miles of sandy beaches, is leaving from Oostmahorn as well.

The Lauwerslake (Lauwersmeer in dutch) is truly loved by fishermen for its large bream, roach, pike, perch and eel. At the reception of Holland1 you can obtain a fishing permit.

Do you like to walk and do you want to relax? Then visit the fishing village of Paesens-Moddergat with its small museum and experience the Wadden Sea World Heritage with its largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world. Hiking over the mudflats of the Wadden Sea certainly is one of the most memorable activities in the Netherlands. Guided tours can be booked here every day of the year.

Or just stay and enjoy yourself at your holiday house. Just don’t forget to look up at the universe on a clear night. With the title Dark Sky Park, Lauwersmeer National Park is one of the world’s darkest places. Here, you can truly experience nature in the dark!

    “Schön ruhig gelegen. Sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet.
    Obwohl Einrichtung natürlich eine Geschmackssache ist.
    Küche mit allem ausgestattet,was man für Frühstück, Mittagessen oder Abendessen benötigt.
    Es waren sehr schöne erholsame Tage und würde es jederzeit wieder buchen.”

    “Leider können wir diese Unterkunft nicht bewerten,da wir ,ohne Informationen,in eine andere Unterkunft umgebucht worden sind,da diese auf einmal nur ohne Hund erlaubt war. Die andere Unterkunft war aber super.Trotzdem wäre eine vorab Information nett gewesen.”

    “Behalve het zeer beperkte glasservice, was het een prima vakantieaccomodatie.
    Het trapje naar voordeur en terras zou wat veiliger en bij regen minder glad mogen zijn. Zeker voor gasten met een beperkte mobiliteit.”

    “Für den Preis und nach den offiziellen Fotos haben wir einen besseren Zustand erwartet. Positiv: Die Lage direkt am Hafen ist sehr schön. Negativ: Das Haus bzw. Holzterasse ist sehr verlebt und die Terrasse ziemlich morsch. Keine Isolierung und 34 °C noch nachts um 2 Uhr. Keine Fliegengitter und viele Spinnen am Fenster.”
