Holiday house in a picturesque location that leaves nothing to be desired

This holiday accommodation is in a little village with about 30 houses, facing a little pond, in a nature reserve where you can observe various bird species. The house is on a very quiet road used only by residents. Otherwise it is the cycle and walking path to the ten-kilometre-long sandy beach at Erdeven 800 metres away.

In the completely enclosed garden, which cannot be looked into, you can listen to the sound of the sea whilst enjoying an aperitif or preparing fish and seafood on the grill. The garden is not shared with anyone. All the rooms have an open view of a four-hectare nature reserve, where you can observe rare bird species (don’t forget binoculars). The granite walls inside and outside are not just typical of the region, but also keep the house cool on hot summer days. If wind blows in from the Atlantic in autumn or spring then you feel very snug and safe behind these walls. There is a parking space right by the house, so you can arrive by car.

The ground floor has a living and dining room, with windows facing south-west towards the pond, as well as glass doors facing south-east towards the garden. On the ground floor there are also an open kitchen, a separate WC and a bathroom with a bath. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances, not just for cooking but also for baking. Afterwards the dishwasher takes over the hard work, so you can just relax after dining. The coffee machine, toaster and kettle facilitate breakfast. As the fridge also has a freezer compartment, you can store groceries optimally during your stay. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One of them has a double bed (160 x 200cm with two Mattresses) and the other has two single beds (90 x 200cm). A children’s supplementary bed (60 x 150cm) is available. All the rooms have heating. The following can also be provided for parents with small children: a fold-out cot, a highchair, a baby bath, a pushchair for going on walks, and a gate to secure the top of the stairs.

The menhirs and dolmen can be explored by bicycle. Halfway, about 400-500 metres away, you can find bicycle hire, a pizzeria, a bistro/café with wireless Internet access. During the main season there is also a little grocery shop offering fresh croissants and baguettes. All other shopping facilities are in Erdeven about 4km away, including two supermarkets, restaurants, an ATM, a petrol station, a butcher and a bakery. Most of them are also open on Sunday mornings.

However, the house is not suitable for people with restricted mobility, as there are several steps in the garden and in the house. The three last steps do not have railings. Transfers to and from the airport in Nantes can be arranged if required, or you can hire a car at the airport.

    “Das Haus war ok, die Gegend leider überlaufen, zu viele Urlauber!
    In der letzten Woche wurde es etwas besser, nicht mehr soviele
    Menschen am Strand!
    Schade war, dass beinahe alle Strände ein Hundeverbot hatten!
    (Allerdings waren dann auch dort meist Hunde am Wasser)
    Ansonsten war alle bestens, Haus und Betten gut...
    Wetter war auch gut!”

    “Das Haus entspricht der Beschreibung und war bei Anreise sauber und gut ausgestattet. Wir hatten ein Problem mit der mitgebrachten Bettwäsche, welches von der Vermieterin hilfsbereit gelöst wurde. Der Garten ist tatsächlich rundum blickdicht geschlossen, was für unsere beiden Hunde super war.
    Der Strand ist zu Fuß ca. 1400m entfernt, was ein idealer Morgenspaziergang war. Der Strand selbst hat riesige Ausmaße und eignet sich auch für lange Spaziergänge. Auch die Umgebung bietet viele Wandermöglichkeiten.”

    “Alle Angaben im Angebot trafen zu, die Eigentümer kümmerten sich sehr gut um uns. Einziges Manko: die angegebenen Geschäfte/Bistros warenna ja und hatten kein Brot/Baguette zu bieten.”

    “Wir haben im Haus alles so vorgefunden, wie es beschrieben war. Alles in gutem, vollständigen Zustand. Die Betreuung bei Übernahme und Abgabe war gut. Wer ein ruhiges Haus für Entspannung und Erholung sucht, ist hier genau richtigt. Wir würden das Haus wieder auswählen.”

    “Das kleine Steinhaus ist wunderschön renoviert und gemütlich eingerichtet. Den Kaminofen haben wir an kalten Abenden sehr genossen. Die Ausstattung ist überdurchschnittlich gut. Es felt an nichts. Der abgeschlossenen Garten ist windgeschützt, sodass man dort wunderbar auch in der Nebensaison noch sitzen kann. Zudem ist er wirklich gut umzäunt, also ideal für Hund oder Kinder. Der nette Vermieter empfing uns persönlich und ist auch im Notfall immer telefonisch erreichbar.
    Die Untekunft liegt malerisch ruhig. Der Weg zum Strand führt durch eine herrliche, weite Dünenlandschaft.
    In der Umgebung gibt es viele nette Orte zu entdecken und jede Menge Wanderwege. Nach unseren Ausflügen sind wir immer gerne in unser kleines Haus zurückgekommen.”
