Altefähr is located in the south-eastern part of Rügen Island in Strelasund. Enjoy a view of the waters from the small port and from the boardwalk, from the rooftops and church towers of the historical old city of Stralsund. Sunset is a picturesque sight. The idyllic holiday resort called Sonnengarten is at a walkable distance from the port. This holiday home is a small paradise in all the seasons: you can relax on the terrace with a magnificent view in summer and in the large bathtub in the bathroom or near the crackling fireplace in the living room in winter. For guests who love fishing, there is a large freezer and a separate cleaning area with filleting facilities in this home. Enjoy the view of the church towers and the impressive Rügen Bridge from the beach. For guests who do not wish to cook, there are various restaurants or eateries with fish snacks in this region. The waters of Altefähr are ideal for sailing and surfing and you can try these activities. Surfing and sailing schools are available in this town. There is a high rope garden and a climbing forest in Rügen called Waldseilpark with climbing options through the forest for all age groups. This park is located a few metres from the holiday resort. This Sonnengarten Holiday Resort is reachable even without a car. The highlight of this trip is the ferry ride from the Stralsund Port (with venerable white fleet) to Altefähr. The holiday home is just about 400 metres from the pier. You can also travel from Stralsund to Altefähr in just a few minutes by train. There are bicycle rentals in town. You can take a cycling trip around Altefähr, as there are various well-marked cycling trails around town. Rügen Round is a famous cycling path. A cottage village is under construction nearby in 2015 and 2016, hence there might be construction activities in the neighbourhood. There will not be any construction activities during summer.     “Das Haus war gut, jedoch in Holzbau und es sind noch grundlegende Einstellungen der Türen vorzunehmen. Auch die Terrasse ist knapp bemessen.     “Kaffeemaschine wurde durch uns erst einmal entkalkt, da im Betriebszustand laut zischend, Kaffeekanne unsauber. Kompottschalen und Schnaps-oder Likörgläser nicht vorhanden. Lebensmittel-Reste wie Olivenöl, Mehl, Zucker vom Vormieter haben in den der Küche nichts verloren. Nebenkosten sollten unserer Meinung nach bei diesem Wochenmietpreis eigentlich enthalten sein.
