This charming idyll with a thatched roof was built in 1848. This unique property is surrounded by old trees. It is located on the outskirts of a small village and is set back from the road. The open-beam ceilings creates a cosy atmosphere in the house. It also has charming small windows. The ceilings are 2.55 metres high. The house is spread over 300 square metres and stands on a 5000 square metre plot. It provides a wonderful setting for relaxing with your family and friends. It is also well suited for family celebrations. Here you can experience the silence, which is broken only by the chirping of birds. Explore the garden's many small cosy corners, taste the red and black currants, cherries and gooseberries, or pick apples and pears from the old fruit trees in the garden. Even in winter, this property is no less idyllic, when the frost fogs up the windows and icicles hang from the thatched roof. After a refreshing walk you can lie down on the sofa by the fireplace and enjoy the sound of the crackling fire. The property is situated near many attractions. In Højer for example, you will find the highest Dutch mill in Northern Europe, which was built in 1857. Here you can experience the history of milling as well as the natural and cultural history of Tøndermarsk and the Wadden Sea. You can also visit Møgeltønder which houses the Schackenborg Castle where Prince Joachim and Princess Marie live. The castle is not open to the public, but in the summer you can go on a guided tour of the Schackenborg palace gardens. Tønder, Denmark's oldest market town, is well worth a visit. The Sønderjyllands Kunstmuseum with the water tower holds a permanent exhibition of Wegner furniture and offers a fantastic view of the city, the Vidå creek and the marshland. The city offers many exciting activities in the pedestrian area throughout the year as well as many good shops and restaurants. You can extend your shopping trip to include a visit to the Danish / German border located 10 km away from the property. You can also explore the Wadden Sea National Park and experience nature like nowhere else in Denmark. In spring and autumn you can experience the magnificent natural phenomenon of the "black sun", when thousands of starlings perform aerial acrobatics and the sun appears black, in the morning and the evening.
