Tradition meets modernity in an agriturismo amidst a nature reserve, with guest rooms and holiday apartments conceived by an Italian designer
The agriturismo, an Italian holiday farm, is in the Parco del Mincio nature reserve, right next to the well-known Bosco della Fontana nature reserve that served as a wild animal park for the Gonzaga aristocratic family in the 17th century.
The agriturismo has a history rich in tradition, with its origins dating back to the year 1498. The house was renovated in 2009, with guest rooms and holiday apartments designed and decorated by the Italian artist and designer Luca Bornoffi. The interior concept is based on the idea of combining colour therapy, art and the reuse of various materials, creating a unique décor. You will find some of the artist’s paintings in the apartments and rooms.
Chairs and tables in the big garden belonging to the property invite you to relax outdoors. You can also use the grill area with tables and chairs in the garden for leisurely grill evenings outdoors. If you enjoy sports or would like to explore the area then you can borrow bicycles. The property has free parking spaces.
There is a cycle path right near the agriturismo, where you can reach the centre of Mantova in one direction in about 15 minutes, while in the opposite direction the path leads about 40km along the embankmen of the River Mincio as far as Peschiera at Lake garda. Or you can go on walks or hikes in the beautiful nearby forest. The family cares about the well-being of their guests and would like to ensure that they feel at home. You can take a smile back home with you after your visit.

The studio is on the first floor, where there are also other rooms. It is very quiet accommodation with a lovely view of the garden. As it is a loft, the 55m² studio exudes a generous sense of space. It consists of a combined bedroom, living room and kitchen, along with a bathroom. The sleeping area comprises two single beds that can also be joined together as a double bed, two bedside tables with lamps, a spacious wardrobe and a mirror. The living room is furnished with a sofa bed that can be folded out as two single beds or a double bed. You can relax here and read or watch TV on the 22” flatscreen TV. There are also a desk with a chair and a dining table for four people with chairs. As it is one open room, the air conditioning in the kitchen also cools the sleeping area. The kitchen is fully-equipped with everything you need for cooking, including a kettle, microwave, cookware and tableware. The bathroom has a shower cubicle.
