Lage:
The former mill is located next to a streamlet, completely alone, enclosed by meadows and forest. About 500 m above the hut you´ll find a "Mostheuriger" which is a typical austrian hostelry. There you have the possibility to visit a mountain farmer museum, which is located next to a playground for children.
Until this place the road is asphaltic, after this there is just a forest road.


Entfernungen:
Town Frankenfels, just 2,5 km from here and about 40 km south of St. Pölten, is a location for people who love hiking. It consists of 80 km tagged hiking trails. In 1 km distance there are crags, nature trails, mountainbike routes starting at Ort, an open air bath, tennis courts and the possibility of riding. From the Mountain Farm Museum, there is a hiking path leading through the Taubenbachklamm (= gorge) to the Nixhöhle (= a cave)!


Ausstattung:
Ground floor: snuggery with lounge and wood stove, stairs leading to the attic, where 2 rooms are located (1x for 2 persons and 1x for 4 persons). Light with solar electricity. In front of the hut you have running water from the well. Here you fill the water, which you heat first on the stove, into the washbasin, just as people did it in fromer times. The earth closet is sideways the hut. In front of the hut are seats and a fireplace.



Nebenkosten:
local tourism tax currently € 1,60/person/night, firewood € 10,-/box, pet € 10,-/week, bed linen can be rented for € 7,-/set.

    “Wir buchten dieses Haus für einen Erholungsurlaub in der Natur mit unseren drei großen Hunden. Unsere Erwartungen wurden voll erfüllt. Die Hütte befindet sich in absolut ungestörter ruhiger Lage, um die Lichtung vor dem Haus finden sich Tiere ein, die man beobachten kann. Die Hunde waren dort gut aufgehoben. Ausstattung, Zustand und Sauberkeit entsprachen unseren Vorstellungen und werden in der Vorstellung des Hauses im Katalog recht gut beschrieben. Unser Aufenthalt fand im August statt, als es einen Hitzerekord gab. Da wäre außer dem Wassergrand vor dem Haus eine weitere Kühlmöglichkeit im Haus für Lebensmittel wünschenswert gewesen. Das Haus selber bot für Mensch und Tier gute Rückzugsmöglichkeit vor der Hitze. Die Betreuung durch die freundliche Bergbauernfamilie im Anwesen nebenan war sehr gut. Den Preis der Hütte für einen Sommerurlaub fanden wir recht attraktiv. Wir würden uns dort wieder einmieten.”
