Cosy holiday home 185 Leonie with a parking lot

The holiday home is located in a small bungalow park in Oostmahorn. Especially suitable for families with small children, couples, and dogs.

The property has an area of about 80 m² and is equipped for 6 people. On the upper floor of the house, there are 2 bedrooms, one with a twin bed and the other has a full bed and a small balcony. Downstairs is the living room with a kitchen, the third bedroom with a queen-size bed, a bathroom (shower over bath) and a separate toilet. Its possible to bbq. There is (DE) Sat.tv and (NL) Kabel tv.

There are garden furniture on the private terrace. There is a private parking for up to 2 cars. On the terrace, the sun shines all day.

Oostmahorn is an old stronghold at the at the western side of the Lauwerslake with a rich history, dating back to the sixteenth century. Nowadays it’s a very pleasant tourist destination at the National Park Lauwersmeer, hosting several holiday resorts.

The lake itself and the direct surroundings are a true paradise for nature lovers, fisherman, water sports enthusiasts, cyclists and hikers. Dogs are more than welcome here as well. There’s a special beach and a forest for them at Lauwersoog.

Within a couple of hundreds of meters there are several playgrounds for children. At the beach, in the small resort ‘De Skâns’ and in Esonstad - which is a holiday resort build as a replica of a typical old Frysian city. In Esonstad you’ll even find a bouncy castle and an indoor playing hall and one can play golf and foot golf here at the local Pitch & Putt area. Renting a bicycle or e-chopper is also possible here.

In Esonstad you can easily do your daily groceries (a bigger supermarkt is just a couple of kilometers away in Anjum) or find a restaurant, pizzeria or a snackbar.
Another three restaurants are even closer to your holiday house. Some of them offer spectacular lake views. Other good options to enjoy the local seafood cuisine are the sea harbor of Lauwersoog at the northern side of the lake, the old fishing village of Zoutkamp at the eastside of the lake or at Dokkum, the most northern fortified city of Friesland.

To discover the National Park from the waterside you could bring your own boat or surf gear but there are boats and sailing boats for rent as well at ‘Paviljoen La Barca’. If you’re more into cat sailing, try the local cat-club ‘Omaho’, next to the small marina.

A boat-tour, sailing trip to Dokkum, bird or seal expedition can be booked around the corner and a ferry to the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog, with it’s many miles of sandy beaches, is leaving from Oostmahorn as well.

The Lauwerslake (Lauwersmeer in dutch) is truly loved by fishermen for its large bream, roach, pike, perch and eel. At the reception of Holland1 you can obtain a fishing permit.

Do you like to walk and do you want to relax? Then visit the fishing village of Paesens-Moddergat with its small museum and experience the Wadden Sea World Heritage with its largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world. Hiking over the mudflats of the Wadden Sea certainly is one of the most memorable activities in the Netherlands. Guided tours can be booked here every day of the year.

Or just stay and enjoy yourself at your holiday house. Just don’t forget to look up at the universe on a clear night. With the title Dark Sky Park, Lauwersmeer National Park is one of the world’s darkest places. Here, you can truly experience nature in the dark!

    “Beschreibung stimmt nicht so ganz, z:b Mikrowelle war nicht da, Waschmaschine kein Schlüssel für denn Raum bekommen, Meer mehr als 500m entfernt, Stadt weiter als 2,5km, die Gegend ist einfach leer da ist nix obwohl in der Beschreibung so viel steht. Man sollte nur dahin reisen wenn man niemanden sehen möchte und nix machen möchte dann passt es. Ich werde nicht mehr dahin fahren bin sehr unzufrieden. P:s an der Rezeption ist fast nie einer da”

    “Das Haus war sauber und sehr gemütlich. In der Küche war alles was man brauchte. sogar ein paar Gewürze, Kaffee, Mehl und Zucker. Der Garten ist schön groß und ein Grill steht auch zu Verfügung. Wir hatten genug Platz mit 5 Personen und einem Australien Shepard. Die Gastgeber begrüßten ihre Gäste sehr herzlich und geben gute Tipps. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.”
