This classified liberty villa was designed by the renowned architect Franco Olivo in 1910 and was the summer residence of the famous writer Anna Emilia "Annie" Vivanti Chartres. It offers an incomparable ambience of privacy and class. It was extensively restored in 2022.  The Portico, with antique ceiling paintings, representing the 3 boats of Christopher Columbus, the Niña, Pinta and Santa Maria, is incomparable. The villa's interior defies description. It was designed, decorated, and furnished with consummate elegance and taste, evoking classic, Old World charm and enhanced by the finest modern amenities. The kitchen designed by DEVOL Leicestershire, is fully equipped with chef-grade appliances, and a private cook can be arranged upon request. The villa's five bedrooms are likewise exquisite. Each has its own, unique charm, with high 3.80 m ceilings, large windows, and beautiful views. The immediate vicinity of many good restaurants, serving authentic Ligurian cuisine, makes the difference between this location and others. You don’t need to use your car every evening and hassle with parking spaces. A small grocery shop is just 3 walking minutes away. It is a great base for exploring the world-famous Cinque Terre National Park as well as the romantic Golfo dei Poeti. Bright, comfortable living room with a fantastic sea view, two modern sofas, large dining table, Flat OLEG Smart TV, colonial stove. 1 spacious bathroom with toilet and walk-in shower, 1 bathroom, toilet, and shower, 1 bathroom with shower, toilet, and wash machine,    1 bedroom with king size bed (180 cm) with canopy, 1 bedroom with queen size bed (160 cm) with canopy, 1 bedroom with double bed (140 cm) with canopy, 1 bedroom with French bed (135 cm), 1 bedroom with 2 single beds 85 x 190 (the only room without A/C or heating),  EXTERIOR/ GARDEN:  Fully fenced, terraced garden of 10.000 m2. In the Mediterranean garden you will find 55 olive trees, fruit trees, mature pine trees, plants and flowers and a GAZEBO, from which you can enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and the extraordinary all-round view. The romantic swimming pool is right next to the house in front of the large, covered terrace with a barbecue and view of the sea.   Exclusivity and total privacy are guaranteed.  A large and comfortable teak lounge and plenty of sun loungers are available. The large round dining table is in the shaded area of the terrace. LOCATION: The villa is on the edge of a small settlement reachable via the historic stone path of via Sant Anna leading either to La Spezia town or further uphill to the Cinque Terre National Park.  This region offers glorious walking opportunities as well as many cycling trails through the hills and forests. Yet despite this countryside feeling, it’s just 2 km to La Spezia town, the gateway to the Cinque Terre National Park, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Whether visiting by car, boat, train or following one of the many trails by foot, this area offers undulating scenery of olive groves, pine forests, vineyards, rocky shores and of course the five famous historic villages with the most spectacular views. The Golfo dei Poeti is also waiting to be explored, a region which has inspired many artists and writers over the years including Byron and Shelley. A paradise for beach lovers, nature enthusiasts and walkers, discover idyllic bays and gorgeous villages across this coastline. The beauty continues as you cross the border into northern Tuscany – spend the day in Pisa, Lucca or even Florence for yet more captivating experiences in this wonderful part of Italy. Currently this is only possible with a smaller car. Pls check visually prior using it. It is at your own risk. We recommend to park on the main road. The distance from the house to the street, with free parking along the main road, is 180 meters or 3-4 minutes walking distance. (Parking next to Restaurant La Gira on Via Genova). We will assist you upon your arrival and departure with the transport of your luggage.
