Holiday home in the vineyards - Quinten am Walensee - can only be reached on foot or by boat

Family friendly, comfortably furnished holiday home (140m2) at the foot of the Churfirsten mountains, situated 200m from Quinten harbour. Unique panoramic views over Lake Walensee and the Glarus Alps in the south, and over the steep, towering slopes of the Churfirsten mountains in the north. Our holiday home is available to let to families, hikers and anybody looking to relax and enjoy Quinten's unique, sunny micro-climate.

Comfortably furnished home

Light, stylishly furnished living and dining area with wood stove and full view of Lake Walensee. Spacious entrance hall, well equipped kitchen and large terrace. One large bedroom, one large bedroom/playroom and one large bathroom upstairs. Two double bedrooms (each 11m2) and a shower/WC in the basement. External sauna on the lower terrace.

Extensive garden

Our garden offers plenty of room to play and to relax. At the upper end of the garden we have around 70 vines, which are cultivated along with grapes from the surrounding vineyards to produce the celebrated "Pinot Noir" wine. Depending on the season, there are also wild strawberries and figs. The view from the garden patio (with pizza oven) over the towering slopes of the Churfirsten mountains is breathtaking. With a little luck you can also find four-leafed clovers in the garden. Around 100m away there is a small bathing area (pebble beach) on the lake. Further bathing areas can also be found in the vicinity.

Quinten can only be reached on foot or by boat. The Quinten-Murg ferry sails to Quinten all year round, making over 20 journeys a day during the summer and around 12 during the winter months. 

The house is located 200m uphill from Quinten harbour. Heating, bed linen, towels, water, electricity and kitchen basics are included in the price.

Excursion possibilities: Family-friendly area For families, Quinten offers more than just car-free roads. Many animals – especially sheep, goats and cats – are kept nearby. On lake Walensee itself there are many opportunities for water sports, and several bathing areas can be easily reached from the house. In addition, trips to the nearby regions of Heidiland, Flumserberg and Glarnerland are possible. Starting point for walks Beautiful walks are possible to or from Amden, Weesen and Walenstadt (each 2-3 hours). Light strolls can be taken along the paths in the village, in the vineyards, to both of Quinten's restaurants and to Au (30 minutes). br /> 100m away from the house, there is a private bathing area (pebble beach) on the lake. Location description: Quinten is car-free and enjoys a unique climate. Situated on the north shore of lake Walensee, Quinten is only accessible by boat or on foot. The village, with around 50 inhabitants, is regarded as the "Ticino of Eastern Switerland": the unique southern location in front of the steep, 2100m high Churfirsten mountains gives the village (430m above sea level) a mild climate, in which not only an excellent wine, but also figs, kiwis and other exotic plants are cultivated. Quinten is car-free and a popular destination for walkers. In the village centre by the harbour, there is a chapel, two restaurants with fish specialities (one of which is open all year round), a "Kellerlädeli" with specialities from Quinten, a gift shop, and a wine cellar. There is a supermarket 200m away from Murg harbour, on the opposite shore of the lake. Quinten is only accessible by boat or on foot. The Quinten-Murg ferry sails to Quinten all year round, making 20 journeys a day in the summer and around 12 journeys in the winter months. Our holiday home is located around 250m uphill from Quinten harbour.
