Even though the main road ends in Betlem, this village with its small Mediterranean-style casas is anything but a dead end. In fact, it is a favourite summer residence for many Mallorcans. As a gleaming white cube, Villa Mateu makes an impressive impression: it stands out architecturally from the numerous Mallorcan domiciles and is just the thing for holidaymakers who appreciate simple, straightforward design. The small barbecue also follows this style. Despite the proximity to other buildings, you can enjoy absolute peace and privacy here, including at the pool, which is diagonally adjacent to the villa and offers plenty of space to dream on a sun lounger under palm trees on the terrace. Cars can be parked safely on the other side. It is also possible to wake up in the morning and walk to the water while everything is quiet. Feelings of happiness by the sea included.

High-quality aesthetics and functionality continue the style inside the villa. Previous guests have remarked on the elegance, clarity and cleanliness. No wonder: the white interior is accentuated by bright red accents, leaving a bright impression that makes it almost impossible not to use the fully equipped modern kitchen. The minimalist living room with comfortable sofa and direct access to the terrace is adjoined on the ground floor by a guest WC and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The guest rooms have their own area on the upper floor. Mahogany radiates warmth and cosiness. Mateu is ideal for six people. There is also an outdoor shower and, of course, the sea!

Those who appreciate individuality and nature, but don't want to do without amenities, will find Betlem with its surrounding countryside and flocks of sheep just as much at their heart as Colònia de Sant Pere with its pretty harbour promenade. From the large terrace of the highly recommended Casablanca restaurant, just a short walk from the villa, the view extends over the sea as far as Cape Formentor. From the Ermita de Betlem hermitage, you can set off on longer and more challenging hikes to destinations such as Puig de Ferrutx and Puig de sa Tudosa. Or visit the rocky Punta des Caló with the rocky bay of Sa Platjola in a bird sanctuary and then return at sunset. Mallorca is at its most beautiful where those who love the hustle and bustle never go and don't want to go! The quiet village of Betlem and the modern Bauhaus-style Villa Mateu are located right by the sea, with magnificent views of the bay of Alcúdia, at the foot of the two highest mountains in the east of Mallorca. An excellent restaurant is within walking distance. Colònia de Sant Pere, just a few minutes away by car, offers good shops for daily needs, a pretty promenade with cafés and a beach protected by breakwaters. Many small bays line the coast and the picturesque town of Artà is a popular holiday destination. Nature lovers, hikers and mountain bikers will find challenging terrain around Betlem.
