Do you recognise the very special smell of the sea and the harbour, wafting in on a steady breeze and swirling around your nose with salty, aromatic notes? It smells of space to breathe, of freedom, as if you were somewhere else entirely; in short, it smells like a holiday. This is what we experienced when we visited Villa Tres Soles, a detached house in an absolutely quiet residential area just outside Portocolom. Despite having immediate neighbours, the house has a private terrace area with views on all sides. It has everything you could wish for in a comfortable holiday home. This includes a very attractive 42 m² pool with an open-air shower and a particularly comfortable outdoor bathroom, a sun terrace with sun loungers and plenty of shade when you need it, as well as a pretty little outdoor kitchen with a barbecue. But all this would be nothing if it weren't for the covered terrace next to the house, where you can round off the barbecue evening with everyone and enjoy the balmy night air. After a restful night, it's a great place to meet everyone for a café con leche and a delicious ensaïmada, which you should definitely try: a pastry covered in icing sugar that can also be filled with pumpkin jam or custard. This traditional Mallorcan speciality is the perfect start to a holiday morning.

And the really spacious layout of this villa near the sea helps to ensure that the day gets off to a relaxed start. The two-storey house has a cosy living area with more than enough sofas around the fireplace and TV, which is open to the dining area. The separate kitchen will delight you, not only because it is fully equipped and absolutely indispensable on a self-catering holiday with a large group, but also because of the cool turquoise on the doors of the built-in cupboards. Overall, the villa's cheerful colour palette really adds to the relaxed, down-to-earth ambience of the house; each of the five bedrooms, whether furnished with a double bed or twin beds, has its own soft colour scheme, creating a calm, soothing atmosphere. In addition to the outdoor bathroom, there are three chic bathrooms with walk-in showers and timelessly beautiful tile patterns. As the living space is spread over two floors - the upper floor even has a sun-drenched balcony with a small lounge set - every guest has their own personal favourite spot inside or outside, which they can visit at any time to lose themselves in a good book. Especially when you stay in a property like this cosy villa, which offers enough space for two or more families, several generations or a large group of friends and at a spectacular price, we would like to add it is really nice to have many different options when planning how you will spend each day. Due to your central location within this residential complex just outside a charming, authentic fishing village, you can combine the experience of a holiday in the city with that of a holiday in the countryside. While some walk into town and stroll through Portocolom or even hike to Cala Marçal or Platja de S'Arenal on the peninsula opposite the harbour, others in your group might take a day trip to Felanitx and visit Sant Salvador. You can also take part in a guided hike through the Mondragó Nature Park or take the opportunity to get involved in all kinds of water sports activities. But there's no need to put yourself under pressure - just take your time and discover all the attractive options available to you during your stay at the enchanting Villa Tres Soles.
