Whole House in Guájar-Faragüit with Common Pool and Mountain View

During the years 2003 and 2006 we bought altogether 3 ruins, out of which we created the holiday home La Cueva in Guajar Faragüit. Once everything was cleaned and ready to be rebuilt the property seemed too big for only one house, so we decided to make two, La Estrella and El Sol, two unique holiday rentals that share the outside facilities. The renovation works were very difficult and strenuous. No building machinery could enter the house, due to the narrow lane we are in, therefore everything had to be done by hand. The result is outstanding and our neighbours are very proud of us and are very happy for our success in renting! In spring 2007 the local TV station „Canal Sur“ phoned and asked if they could come to film the house – of course they could!! They then invited us, together with lots of neighbours from the whole valley, to a live breakfast show to their studios in Malaga, where they presented the valley of Los Guajares, with us as the guesthouse to stay at when visiting! A lovely compliment! When we enter the inner courtyard from the road with our guests, very often we hear a „Ahhhh“ or a „how beautiful!“ Everything is made in a moorish style, with mostly local materials and soothing colours, surrounded by many plants. A hidden gem, indeed! From the patio both houses can be entered, outside we have two seperate sitting corners, where you can enjoy a drink or your breakfast. A few steps lead up to the pool, set into a cave (La Cueva), formerly home to pigs, rabbits and chicken! The solarheated pool has an integrated bench with airjets (jacuzzi) – perfect for a refreshing dip! Next to it you find another bathroom with the washing machine, iron and ironing board. Here we also leave you some umbrellas, that you can take to the beach if you wish. A spiral staircase leads up to the big (100m2), south facing roof top terrace from where you enjoy the most breathtaking views across the Los Guajares mountain range, that separates us from the sea. The locals grow mainly avocado-,chirimoya-,almond-, olive- and citrus fruit trees, if you wish to get closer, go up to the moorish ruin „El Castillejo“ that you can see from up here. There are two individual, shady pergolas with tables and chairs, deckchairs, hammocks and also a BBQ. Take your favorite drink and sit up here at night, enjoying the starry sky or the fullmoon! Magic! Many guests have already confirmed just how quiet it is here, even though we are in the middle of the village. The slightly bigger holiday rental La Estrella (5-7 guests) offers two bedrooms upstairs, one has got a little balcony overlooking the patio, in the other one is a small and cozy alcove with the 5th bed. The bathroom is accessible from both bedrooms. Downstairs everything is open plan. The modern kitchen is fully furnished – fridge-freezer, oven microwave,toaster,kettle,coffeemachine, italian espresso maker, dishes, cutlery etc.. There is a lovely eating area and of course the living room with a comfortable (bed)sofa and another sitting corner. For the cooler nights of the year you have a glass fronted woodburner, that heats the whole house.     “Wirklich sensationell, was die Vermieter aus einer Ruine bzw zusammengefallenem Haus an Schönem und Neuem haben entstehen lassen. Sehr viele liebevolle Details und toller Service seitens Vermieter.
    Großzügig (viel Platz im Haus, In einer Grotte platzierter beheizter Pool, tolle Dachterassen mit zwei überdachten Sitzgelegenheiten. Das alles in einem verwinkelten ursprünglichen andalusischen Dorf, wo Touristen gefühlt noch die absolute Ausnahme sind. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen, ans Meer (zum Beispiel Solobrena) nach Granada oder in die Sierra Nevada”
