Renovated Jugendstil flat in Wengen

The Schlosseck is located in the car-free resort of Wengen, a 19th century British mountaineering exclave in the Bernese High Alps, Switzerland. Built in 1910, the Schlosseck is set in a scenic alpine environment in the finishing area of the legendary Lauberhorn ski race – a unique location with most spectacular mountain views, a large garden and an organic farm nearby. Through an ingenious combination of the old and the new, the recent renovation of the house highlights its original Belle Epoque charms. In terms of size, quality and materiality the holiday flat meets both the expectations of contemporary living and the requirements of a demanding clientele.     “Positiv: Die Raumaufteilung und der grosse Esss-Wohnbereich.
    Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Vermieter.
    Ruhige Lage und doch nahe bei der Sesselbahn. Negativ: Die Betten waren nicht so bequem und die Abwaschmaschine hat nicht sauber gewaschen.”

    “Our hosts were great, provided lots of great information in advance were easy to reach and very helpful. The kitchen was great with two refrigerators and a separate freezer. Ample cook wear and dishes were present. I recommend it but I would bring my own pillow. An upgrade to the mattresses and pillows would make it five stars Positiv: The view was amazing. The rooms were spacious and the amenities were great The owners gave us access to their garden which had a amazing produce and strawberries. The Nespresso machine and capsules were also excellent. Negativ: The beds were very uncomfortable and the tiny pillows made sleeping difficult. The towels need fabric softener as they felt like sandpaper. One could feel the slats though the thin mattresses. Two bathrooms were great but one was connected to a bedroom which made using it difficult for the rest of the party”
