House in San Bartolomé with Private Parking and Spectacular Views

Situated in the heart of the wine growing region of La Geria, and surrounded by numerous volcanoes, this lavishly renovated 19th century Bodega offers some exciting contrasts. The historical architecture has been complemented with a sensible, modern, almost sacral interior that perfectly harmonizes designer classics and contemporary Art.

Great emphasis was placed on environmental protection in the renovation of this beautiful country finca and now the house is almost completely self-sustaining through wind and solar energy conversion and the use of cisterns in the gathering of rain water.

Behind main walls a metre thick and situated around a central inner courtyard, is the lofty, light flooded lounge with a ceiling that rises seven metres high. There is a bedroom on the lounge gallery with its own terrace that offers some spectacular views. The spacious kitchen and dining room are modern and cool an the very large bathroom also has its own patio to enjoy.

The library is well stocked with a multitude of books on Art and Literature. The inner private courtyard beckons in the warm evenings to come out and enjoy the stars. Set in two hectares, the premises offer some interesting gardening concepts and many spacious terraces with panoramic views across the black fields of lava and the impressive cliffs at Famara.

The region is home to many wineries and one of the best known Bodegas Los Bermejos is found right opposite.

The area is popular for various leisure activities including hiking tours, mountain biking and cycling tours. Several routes start right at the house (a mountain bike and a racing bike, both Scott Carbon Fibre are at the guests disposal)

The best beaches of the island are within 15 minutes by car, Famara being particularly popular amongst surfers.

    “A beautiful house, very different with plenty of character, very spacious, clean, well equipped with a large, well maintained garden. Excellent views over the surrounding landscape from house and garden. Very friendly, helpful, competent local maintenance, contact, consultant, support, caretaker, ... always there when needed but never intrusive.
    With young children or infirm people, the stairs to the upper floor could be an issue since they have no handrail or banister - for us that was no problem.
    The house is located rather rural, meaning it is the perfect starting point for walks or bike rides in an amazing volcanic landscape. I would recommend a car ... albeit admittedly we have not checked for local buses. Being right in the centre of Lanzarote, this house is an ideal base to explore the entire island.”
