“We arrived just before 10pm on a Sunday night to find that the electricity was off. We did have a quick look for the consumer unit (fuse box) but not knowing the property at all had trouble finding it. We called the emergency help number and we were told that an engineer would be contacted. We kept on looking for the box and did eventually find it so did not need the engineers help. The main fuse had tripped out and upon resetting everything was ok.
Cutlery and crockery for the accommodation was dirty. We went to the agent the next day and notified them. They did offer to clean the accommodation again but we said that was unnecessary as all it needed was to be put through the dishwasher. They were helpful and provided BBQ utensils and cleaning equipment for the BBQ which was not available until then.
We also found that we received electric shocks from the dishwasher if we touched the sink at the same time as loading/unloading it.. On the leaving information I did make reference to this and that it was a possibility that this was the cause of the initial main fuse tripping out before we arrived.
At the time of year when we went, September, the sun was off the swimming pool area by 1pm.
The rooms had obviously had smokers in them prior to us arriving, and as we do not smoke this was very noticeable when first entering the property. We did open as many windows as possible to improve this and after a few days was no bad. The agent did say that this property was not down as a non smoking one, so we must have missed that at the time of booking.
