This beautiful country retreat is located only a short drive away from the lake shores and Ullswater, and a little further to Lake Derwent Water at Keswick. The Cumbrian town of Penrith is not far away, nor is access to the northern Peninnes. The historical sites on Hadrian's Wall walk are all very accessible, so you have a whole choice of where to go and what to visit.
The impressive Victorian Manor Houseis made of warm red sandstone. It was built in 1845 for the bride Lady Jane Aglionby. A beautiful house with extensive gardens for you to roam and enjoy the peaceful views. Inside is the commanding Great Hall with its magnificent oak staircase and stained glass windows.
The manor house has been converted into eight unique and totally private apartments, each one having been lovingly prepared for self catering guests.
The manor is nestled in beautiful tiered gardens have commanding views down the Eden Valley and the northern pennines not being far away. The location allows short and easy access in the heart of the Lake District National Park but being just outside the boundaries of this, the village is just that little bit quieter and personal.
Spacious and modern furnished apartment on the first floor, for four guests
This is a delightful first floor apartment. The lounge dining room has a double bed (160 x 200 cm), a flat screen TV and DVD player, a payphone and free internet access during your stay. The bedroom is furnished with a large double bed (180 x 200 cm). There is a well equipped kitchen with all modern day conveniences. The bathroom has a bath tub with over-bath power shower, a wash basin, hairdryer and a toilet.
You have luxury linens towels and bathrobes as well for your stay. All you might need for a perfect get away.
The property has extensive garden areas with outdoor seating and picnic benches with the woodland areas. You have direct access on to local footpath which wil take you the local village which has two pubs and a village store.
A pet can stay with prior arrangements and subject to a pet fee of £30 per stay (due before your arrival).
Locally are lots of lovely quaint villages. Access in to the Lake DIstrict National Park is very easy from the manor house. The Northern Pennine hills are also just a short drive away. The local towns of Penrith and Carlisle are just 12 miles away and the borders of Scotland, Hadrians Wall and Gretna Green are easily reached.
