Velebit is a home to numerous plant and animal species, some of which are endemic, so it comes as no surprise that the mountain comprises the Northern Velebit National Park and the Nature Park Velebit. The latter is where our vacation house is situated. Primordial, untouched beaches in the near vicinity of our vacation house "Kod Jose i Mare" will help you relax your body and mind. Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of Velebit and experience the very best of Croatia - pristine beaches and exciting hiking trails.

The village of Alan is 17 km away from our vacation house, and you can reach it by driving up a non-steep paved road. There is a mountain house where you can take a short break and then continue exploring Velebit and its nature on foot or by bikes. Also, an amazing viewpoint will give you a breathtaking view over the surrounding islands. Only 2 km from our house one can come across Jablanac, a picturesque fishermen village with a lovely beach and a restaurant. From there, one of the most beautiful inlets, Zavratnica, is within walking distance. The above-mentioned inlet belongs to the Nature Park Velebit and is under special protection due to its natural significance. You can also hit the beach in Stinica, 1.5 km away, where you can find a small store and a charming restaurant. Stinica is mostly known as a ferry port from where you can take a ferry to get to the island of happiness - Rab. The island of Pag is reachable by ferry in Prizna, a small place 10 km away. Bigger places in the area include Karlobag, 20 km away, and Senj (40 km). Both cities have many stores, restaurants, a post office, a police station and a doctor's office. There is no public transportation available, so having a personal vehicle is mandatory. A private parking space is provided.
