Mayor accepts atraveo award
News from Italy: Marco Fabbri has accepted the atraveo award for Lido degli Estensi, the best Italian holiday resort 2015.
Bianca Bontempo, atraveo’s market manager for Italy travelled to the Italian Adriatic coast especially for the award ceremony. The award was presented there on Wednesday in the presence of journalists at the town hall of Comacchio, which forms part of Lido degli Estensi. The visibly proud mayor, Marco Fabbri, accepted the award on behalf of the whole community.
In a brief address, Bianca Bontempo emphasised what the holidaymakers particularly like about Lido degli Estensi, quoting from the verified customer reviews of the resort, which were submitted to the atraveo website last year. "Lively place - especially in the evenings - with nice cafés and restaurants, many shopping possibilities and a very nice sandy beach" – as one satisfied holidaymaker summarised his experience, for example.
Furthermore, Bianca Bontempo stressed that the choice of Lido degli Estensi as the best Italian holiday resort has been accompanied by a significant expansion of the range, which atraveo has achieved in Lido degli Estensi and the other Lidi Ferraresi by working with local agencies over the last two years. Lidi Ferraresi is the generic term for the seven bathing resorts in the Comune di Comacchio, which line up like a string of pearls along a c. 20-kilometre beach on the coast of the Ferrara province. In addition to Lido degli Estensi, the resorts of Lido delle Nazioni, Lido degli Scacchi, Lido di Pomposa, Lido di Volano, Lido di Spina and Porto Garibaldi form the Lidi Ferraresi.
In his acceptance speech, Mayor Marco Fabbri emphasised that the atraveo customers’ choice was a great acknowledgment for the efforts that have been made in the past to improve tourist infrastructure. Even though the hard work has now borne fruit through receiving this award, he also stressed that endeavours to convince further holidaymakers of the quality of the seven seaside resorts are far from over. Similar comments were made by Sergio Provasi, head of the tourist office, as well as by Roberto Catagalli, director of culture, tourism and sport. Pino Arveda who, with his agency, has already been working together with atraveo as a provider for more than ten years, congratulated all the participants once again at the end of the ceremony and stressed how important collaboration between Italy and Germany is for both sides.
