    “Alliste und Racale bieten durchaus ausreichend Einkaufsmöglichkeiten: eine Pasticceria, ein Obst-und Gemüsehandel, ein Bäcker, eine salumeria, wo es auch ein reichhaltiges Käseangebot nebst Brötchen, Baguettes etc sowie Lebensmittel für den täglichen Bedarf gibt Zwischen Racale und Taviano kann man im Super-Mac groß einkaufen. Es gibt einige gute Restaurants, z.B. l´Acchiatura in Racale.
    In Torre San Giovanni speist man ausgezeichnet. Ansonsten sind die kleinen apulischen Nester gewöhnungsbedürftig: im Straßenverkehr heißt es höllisch achtgeben, da die Vorfahrts- und andere Regeln nur so ungefähr gelten, architektonisch wirkt manches eher deprimierend. Wer ein bisschen mehr Ansprüche hat, sieht sich den borgo antico von Nardo, Galantina z.B. an oder fährt nach Gallipoli und nach Lecce, wo sich ganz andere Erfahrungen auftun.Unterhalb von Torre San Giovanni Zugang zu einem ordentlichen Strand ( Robinson Club und / oder Lido Pineta- Ausschilderung an der Ampel zwischen Torre S.G. und Torre Muzzo folgen) , nördlich von Santa Caterina im Parco Naturale di Porto Selvaggio führt ein zwanzigminütiger Weg durch den Wald ( alles sehr sauber) zu einer schönen Bucht.”
