Individual stone house with a garden, in a quiet and rural location, not far from the Monet garden in Giverny


This idyllic stone house stands on a beautiful plot of land two kilometres from the Seine, in the little village of Saint Etienne sous Bailleul. It enjoys a quiet and peaceful location, surrounded by a hilly landscape and affording a beautiful view over the valley. Owing to this location and its proximity to Giverny, it is ideal accommodation for guests who would like to combine a holiday amidst beautiful nature with a visit to the Monet house. The property, which the owners also live on, has two further, individually designed holiday houses. All the houses are independent of each other and do not face each other.

The house has a dining room and a comfortable living room with a fireplace. Firewood is provided. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave and coffee machine. The upper floor has three bedrooms, two each with a double bed and the third with a single bed. The bathroom has a shower, WC and washing machine.

The house has a 500m² garden with deckchairs and garden furniture, as well as a private parking space. The site is enclosed and therefore also suitable for children. There is also a closed room where you can e.g. store bicycles.

The house has free wireless Internet access. A cot can be provided on request. Two further supplementary beds can be provided. A room with a pool table and table football and a spacious room with a big fireplace, which is ideal for grilling, is shared with guests staying at the other two holiday houses.

Lovers of Impressionism can visit the Claude Monet museum and garden in Giverny, just twelve kilometres away. There is also a lake nearby. There are shops within seven kilometres. On the banks of the Seine there is a well-known bakery, as well as a restaurant. It is just six minutes away by car or a 30-minute walk along a path.

    “Wir haben als vierköpfige Familie im August 2016 wunderbar ruhige und erholsame Ferien dort verlebt.
    Das Haus bietet viel Raum und hat einen wunderbar alt-romantischen Charme.
    Das Erdgeschoss (Küche-Esszimmer und Wohnzimmer) sind eher kühl, was bei den heißen Temperaturen sehr angenehm war), das 1. Stockwerk (3 Schlafzimmer) aber gut isoliert und belüftbar, so dass es nie zu heiß wurde.
    Die Vermieter, die direkt nebenan wohnen, sind unheimlich nett und hilfsbereit. Leider sprechen sie tatsächlich nur Französisch, was für uns ein kleines Problem war, doch mit ein paar Worten und vielen Gesten haben wir uns trotzdem gut verstanden.
    Das Haus sieht außen und innen so aus wie auf den Bildern. Die Räume sind großzügig, sauber und gepflegt, nur den Kühlschrank habe ich erst einmal ausgewischt.
    Der Herd funktioniert mit Gas und wird per Streichholz gezündet - trotz anfänglicher Bedenken meinerseits kein Problem.
    Für Ferienhäuser nicht selbstverständlich steht mehr als genug Geschirr und Besteck bereit., außerdem eine Senseo- und eine normale Kaffeemaschine und Toaster.

    Draußen gibt es hat einen eigenen abgegrenzten kleinen Garten mit Apfelbäumen, in dem es sich bei Sonnenschein herrlich schattig entspannen lässt. Der kiesbestreute große Parkplatz vor dem Haus lud ein zum Federball- und Frisbee-Spielen. Nebenan wohnen Hühner, Perlhühner, Gänse, Truthahn und Enten, die entgegen unserer ersten Befürchtungen nicht im Geringsten störend waren. Die hauseigenen Eier schmecken unheimlich gut (bei der Vermieterin zu kaufen).

    Wenn sich die Gelegenheit ergibt, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder.”
