Oligmühle – peace and quiet away from hectic everyday life
An alternative holiday or weekend. Discover the Hunrück area in your free time, the part of the Rheinischer Schiefergebirge between the Rhine, Moselle, Saar and Nahe with its widely untouched and varied landscape. It is enticing in any season. The ‘Oligmühle’ mill offers a unique opportunity to do so. It has been converted into a holiday house and is situated amidst the forest by a little stream, about 1.5km from the nearest village. Nobody will disturb you here!
The mill was converted whilst preserving its original form, combined with modern technology and using inviting and warm natural wood. The cosy atmosphere meets the expectations of discerning guests. The house can accommodate a large family or groups of 6-8 people. It has a large living room, a fireplace, a dining space, a kitchen, a shower room with a WC, four bedrooms. There is modern gas central heating and in addition a fireplace stove and an open fireplace. Plenty of wood is available. Two bedrooms are furnished with double beds, the third with a single bed and a pull-out bed, and the sleeping berth has a mattress measuring 140 x 200cm for two people. DSL 6000 Internet access is available. We have decided consciously against a television and provide games and books instead. There is no mobile phone reception, but a landline connection.
There is a big terrace with a brick-built grill, providing ample space for leisurely grill evenings or breakfast outdoors.
The special feature is the peacefulness and contact with nature. Traben-Trarbach: the gem on the central Moselle. Wines were formerly traded here and the town became wealthy around the turn of the previous century, testified to still today by the large wine cellars and the grandiose Jugenstil villas. These cellars can now be visited on guided tours or you can stay in some of the Jugendstil houses. Bernkastel-Kues: situated on both sides of the river, with the picturesque Landshut castle ruin rising above it and divided by the Moselle, the town invites you to go on a stroll through a rich history of over 2000 years. Medieval timber-framed houses characterise the picturesque old town around the market square.
