A visit to the beautiful weekly market is just as recommended as the Roman Museum (approx. 1.8 km) with its interesting exhibitions. When the weather is nice, the lido on the southern shore of the lake is approx. 3 km away. Just a few metres away is the entrance to the Westruper Heide, with its extensive heathland and beautiful hiking trails.Cyclists will find numerous cycle paths around Haltern am See. The ‘100 Castles Route’, Roman-Lippe Route and Hohe Park Nature Park Route are just some of the options. The nearby Hohe Mark Nature Park is also ideal for hiking and Nordic walking. The tourist office is located in the historic town hall.
