A stunning rural property, perfect for large group bookings
Two superb properties offering a gorgeous rural retreat set on private land, not far from the picturesque village of Desertines in the Mayenne department of France (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and complete with onsite leisure complex with indoor pool, jacuzzi, gym and games room.
The first property, Le Moulin, is a luxury renovated and modernised rural dwelling, formerly an old flour mill, boasting four storeys and accommodating up to 24 people. Next to it, La Petite Maison, a two storey farmhouse that can accomodate up to 12 people.
Secure entry gates lead to an expansive courtyard with parking for up to around 20 vehicles.
Le Moulin is directly in front of you with La Petite Maison to the right. Both properties are fronted by a stone patio area. The communal Leisure Complex is to the left.
We provide patio furniture for use by guests; each property is furnished with enough table and chairs for their use, along with a portable grill/barbecue. The onsite Leisure Complex has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, changing rooms, lockers, showers, separate male/female WCs and a handbasin, gymnasium with smith rack and weights, treadmill, stationery bike, power plate, rowing machine and leads upstairs to a games room with table tennis table, full-size snooker table, pool table and flatscreen TV with games consoles for Xbox and Wii. A selection of games for the consoles can be provided on request.
Leading down a gravel path is a large garden. La Petite Maison also has its own pretty rose garden complete with patio and brick built bbq.
For our guests' convenience, we provide a welcome basket on arrival with a few provisions and information about the property and local attractions/activities nearby. We provide free car parking and free Wifi for our guests' use throughout the property
We provide a cot and highchair for our younger guests and cot bedding can be provided on request
A selection of dvds can be provided on request. Also, xbox and Wii games. There is no smoking allowed in the property and pets are not allowed for the comfort of all our guests.
The properties are located in the picturesque village of Desertines. The nearest town is Gorron, in the Mayenne department. There is plenty to see and do; local lakes, walks, bike trails, eateries, shops.

This booking option is for the larger of the two houses: it offers around 9,500 sq ft of modern, stylish accommodation with each 400 sq ft bedroom suite and a large bathroom with walk in shower. In total, the property can accommodate up to 15 people. The main living space - the salon - is around 1,500 sq ft and has been kitted out with a projector, stereo sound system and cinema screen. The house boasts an expansive layout set out over 4 floors. Each level has real wood floors. The ground floor opens with a wide entrance with wooden church pew and occasional table. To the left of the main doors is the kitchen and dining area. The tiled kitchen is resplendent with a wood fired Rayburn - which provides the heating for the kitchen/dining area - and cooker with hob and electric oven. There is a 'U' shaped breakfast bar and along the back wall, double stainless steel sink. Equipment in the kitchen comprises full length storage cupboards with cookware and crockery, tall fridge, small chest freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and pods, chopping board, 5-knife rack, 4 slice toaster, kettle, water urn, industrial microwave. Underneath the double sinks are drawers complete with cutlery, ovenware and cookware. There are comfortable stools around the breakfast bar. In the dining area, guests are provided with tables and chairs for cosy meals. Leading off the kitchen is the utility room with additional SMEG fridge/freezer, separate large washer and dryer (charges apply) as well as clothes airers and ironing press, additional iron and ironing board. To the right of the main entrance is the large TV room, which has a generous sofa and large sofa bed, ground floor WC with handbasin. Up the winding staircase to the first floor; foyer with a selection of cosy sofas and armchairs, floor lamp, large wooden coffee table and small table with reading lamp. Leading off to the left is the grand salon - great for cinema nights, receptions, parties, conferences. The salon is furnished with a music/sound system with projector and screen. Le Moulin de la Quentiniere is in the little village of Désertines, in the town of Gorron, the Mayenne department of the Pays de la Loire. For those who like to explore, it is an ideal base from which to travel to other places of interest. There are weekly markets in the surrounding towns; the one in Gorron is on a Wednesday morning - get there early! Our local village of Desertines is only a mile away/1.2 km and the town centre with its restaurants and supermarkets is approximately a 15/20 minute drive. The beach is about a 1.5 hour drive away. There are a few manmade sandy beaches; the one at La Ferte Mace is very popular and is only a 45 minute drive. At the same site, you will also find a park, large lake, cafe/restaurant, go-karting, pedaloes, volleyball/football pitch and mini golf.You will find plenty of public parks with floral displays, boating lakes, countryside walks, Centres de Loisirs, where you can hire bicycles, go hiking along adventure trails or, for the more intrepid, try kayaking or the high wire walks through the treetops!
