Light and modern holiday apartment with a view of the Black Forest landscape

This apartment is on the ground floor of a detached single-family house in a fabulous and quiet location in Elzach-Yach. The house was awarded the architecture prize “Exemplary Building” in 2009. It is a successful combination of typical Black Forest tradition, stylish modernity and innovation.



The modern and newly renovated apartment of around 43m² has a spacious living and dining room with a two-seater sofa, a coffee table, an LED TV, a dining table for two people, and a kitchen unit equipped with an oven, a ceramic hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, coffee capsules machine and kettle. The bedroom of the same size is furnished with a double bed (180cm wide), a desk and a cosy sitting corner. The bathroom with modern fittings has a shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer. Some board games are available to while away the time in bad weather. Underfloor heating, heating, free wireless Internet access are available in all the rooms. The accommodation features fresh colours, with a modern, light and linear interpretation. The large window fronts blend the interior space with nature and generate a varied play of colour.



The bedroom and living room open onto the 24m² roofed veranda facing south-west and the garden with a view of the surrounding Black Forest landscape as far as the Rohrhardsberg. The property has its own particular charm, with attention to detail and to nature. The veranda has comfortable lounge furniture and a lounger. There are free public parking spaces on the street in front of the main house. Pets are not allowed.



The access to the apartment is not barrier-free. The apartment is on the second level (stairs down). A basic supply of condiments, vinegar, oil etc. is provided in the apartment. You can make use of a drinks service. As a welcome drink, you can help yourselves at the free tea bar. Soft drinks, coffee capsules, beer and a selection of fine wines are available, to be taken and paid for. The local tax is obligatory. All holiday guests are entitled to the KONUS guest card, which allows free bus and train rides with all nine transport companies in the Black Forest holiday region between the Rhine and the Neckar, Pforzheim and Waldshut, including the tram in Freiburg. Apart from this, you also have free entry to the outdoor pools and museums in the two-valleys region, the Schwarzwald Zoo in Waldkirch and the leisure complex in Oberwinden. In winter, skiers receive price reductions on ski passes at Kandel and Rohrhardsberg upon presentation of the KONUS card.



The nearest town centre is 1.5km away, with cafés, restaurants, clubs, bars, a grocery shop and the nearest public transport stop (train station). There are various sports facilities available: bowling alley (ca. 15km), golf course (ca. 12km), riding facilities (ca. 2km), a tennis court (ca. 2km), a football ground (ca. 1km), a swimming pool (ca. 1km), a hiking trail (ca.300m).

    “Gedurende twee weken hebben wij eind juni naar alle tevredenheid gebruik gemaakt van de onderste verdieping van de woning van de familie Albon in Elzach. Comfort, een keurige inrichting en het altijd vriendelijke contact met de familie Albon zijn ons bij gebleven. Toch hebben we twee aandachtspunten voor een verbetering gemeld, te weten:
    - een leuning langs de onderste buitentrap naar de woning ontbreekt en
    - de bank in de woonkamer gaf ons niet het gewenste comfort.”

    “Perfect huis met alles er op en er aan alleen het zitcomfort is niet geweldig ( met z'n tweeen 14 dagen op een veel te diepe bank is wel veel gevraagd ) verder geweldig !”

    “De woning is zeer licht (grote ramen), modern, netjes en nieuw. Redelijk veel, overdekte, buitenruimte, zelfs met regenachtig weer kun je er buitenzitten. Voor twee personen is de woning groot genoeg en van alle gemakken voorzien. Om bij de woning te kunnen komen moet je wel een paar trappen naar beneden lopen, is voor iemand die slecht ter been is minder geschikt. De verhuurders zijn vriendelijk en gastvrij.”
