Manhattan style apartment in Brooklyn, in a recently renovated (2014) 19th century building

This stylish, modern apartment is located in the Bedford Stuyvesant historical neighborhood of Brooklyn NY. It is only 5 stops from Manhattan on Duke Ellington's A train, close to the C and J trains and seconds away from 3 city buses. The A train takes you straight to Macys at 34th street and 42nd street Time Square.

Bedford-Stuyvesant, also called Bed-Stuy, has a rich history and a vibrant, diverse culture - all you need for a memorable experience in New York City. It is the birthplace and hometown of some of the most celebrated figures in literature, sports, entertainment and politics, such as Norman Mailer, Jackie Robinson, Lena Horne, Shirley Chisholm, Jay Zee, Norah Jones, Mos Def and Chris Rock. On Fulton Street, you'll find the beloved Billie Holiday Theatre inside of Restoration Plaza, also home to the Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Bed-Stuy is also called “The neighborhood of churches,” with more than 500 churches, mosques and synagogues within a two-mile square block radius. It also has been nicknamed "Brownstone Brooklyn," claiming the highest concentration of pre-war Brownstones in all of New York City.

Brooklyn has become a mini Manhattan with its trendy bars, restaurants, coffee shops and diverse cultures - with this in mind the apartment has only recently been renovated in 2014 and styled in a relaxing zen design merged with the original brownstone tradition and charm of the 19th century building.

The apartment is on the top floor of the three-storey residential building. Furnished with warmth and comfort in mind, it will capture all your senses. There is a cosy living area with comfortable sofas, a flatscreen TV and an open fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and a modern bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen is complete with a stylish breakfast bar and is equipped with a dishwasher, gas cooker, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and a coffee machine. The two bedrooms are furnished with a 140 x 200 double bed each and one even has its own open fireplace. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, wash basin and a toilet.

Wireless Internet, a washer/dryer, soft sheets and towels and many other treats await you.

There is a garden that can be used all year round.

First, there’s the food, including the whimsical creations at Do or Dine, the pizzas at Saraghina, the warmth of Manny’s , the unique doughnuts at Dough and the flavorful doubles (a classic West Indian snack) at A&A Bake and Doubles Shop. Then there is the beautiful architecture: just about every tree-lined block reveals a treasure or two in the form of an Italianate brownstone or landmark row house. Let’s not forget about the neighborhood’s illustrious inhabitants: only in Bed-Stuy can you get a drink at a bar owned by actor Anthony Mackie or walk past stoops where the Notorious B.I.G. (who, contrary to myth, actually grew up in adjacent Clinton Hill, near the border of the two neighborhoods) and Jay Z got their starts. When the sun goes down, you can see an Off-Broadway show by an up-and-coming African-American performer or hang out in the parlor of a townhouse built in the 1880s, listening to jazz. The streets hum with an energy as distinctive as its residents, many of whom can trace their Brooklyn roots back to the first wave of the Great Migration in the early 20th century. By all means, be prepared to say hello to those you pass kibitzing in their gardens or tidying their steps. Most of all, be prepared to be welcomed to a neighborhood bursting with pride, culture and community.

Twenty minutes on the train is the Brooklyn's Barclays Center hosts some of the biggest events in New York City. Its regular tenants are the National Basketball Association's Brooklyn Nets and the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, and it's also frequently the site of concerts by big-name artists like Jay Z and the Rolling Stones.
